vivo and UNESCO Launch Capture the Future

Capture the Future: vivo and UNESCO launch a new generation of storytellers

vivo, in partnership with UNESCO, has announced the launch of Capture the Future, an international initiative designed to empower young storytellers through the latest mobile imaging technology. The project is aimed especially at students, inviting them to share their perspective on key issues such as science, education and society through the language of film.

The goal is clear: to give a voice to the new generations, encouraging individual and collective creativity and building a global network of young creatives able to tell the story of the world around them through technology.

A fund for young filmmakers: the Asian Youth Film Fund

To support the project, vivo and UNESCO have joined forces with the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation (BCAF) to create the Asian Youth Film Fund. The fund will provide financial support and training to selected students, who will make short films on the relationship between science, technology and society.

Participants will have access to cutting-edge mobile imaging tools, and a jury of industry experts will select the best projects. The most outstanding works will be screened at major Asian film festivals, giving young talent a real platform to emerge on the international audiovisual scene.

Alongside video production, the programme includes workshops, talks and training sessions that introduce students to professional photography and videography, offering well-rounded preparation.

vivo and UNESCO’s vision: creativity, technology and responsibility

“We believe technology is a bridge between creativity, expression and learning,” said Zhu Yi, Global Brand Strategy Senior Director at vivo. “With Capture the Future we want to help young people express their potential and share their vision of the future.”

UNESCO, through Jing Feng, Chief of the Culture Unit at the UNESCO Bangkok Office, also stressed the importance of promoting diversity and creativity among young people, supporting new narratives through accessible digital tools.

The role of technology in visual expression

vivo confirms its leadership in mobile imaging, focusing on advanced technology such as that found in the new vivo V50, featuring ZEISS Natural Color Calibration for faithful colour reproduction. Innovation of this kind aims to spark creativity by offering ever more sophisticated tools to those who want to tell stories through images.

vivo’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, including Capture the Future, are a key part of the company’s strategy to promote cultural exchange and support the development of visual skills among young people.

A look at the future of storytelling

The ambition is clear: to expand Capture the Future globally, creating an ecosystem of young storytellers able to tackle complex issues with a critical and creative eye. The partnership with international organisations such as UNESCO aims to turn visual storytelling into a tool for reflection and change.

With this initiative, vivo strengthens its role not only as a technology innovator but also as an active promoter of an inclusive and conscious vision of the future of film and video.
